The first step in the recruitment journey will be to complete an application form or submit your CV, this will depend on the vacancy that you are applying for. Application forms will generally ask questions based around the role in order to assess your experience, so this is an excellent opportunity to make yourself stand out. Don’t be shy in giving as much detail as you can about your skills and how they apply to the role.
An assessment day gives you the opportunity to get to know the team managers for the role you are applying for, as well as a chance for them to meet you. Together with a group of other candidates, we will spend some time telling you about MotoNovo Finance and the role you have applied for. Following this, there is an ice-breaker session and some group exercises, which are designed to help us get to know you, and assess your suitability for the role.
You will be met by a member of the Recruitment Team and the hiring manager for the position that you are applying for. After having a chat about MotoNovo Finance, we will discuss the role you have applied for and how it fits into the organisation. We will ask you some questions in relation to the position and your previous experience and skills. You will also be able to ask us any questions you may have – we want to make sure that MotoNovo Finance is the right fit for you too!
Katie Feagan, Recruitment Manager
Having worked at MotoNovo Finance for several years, I’ve been really privileged to see us go from strength to strength, but one thing that has remained the same is our culture. When you become a MotoNovian you can expect a first class benefits package and a competitive salary - but more than that - we’ll invest in your future and help you to build a career with us. We recognise the importance of looking after our people and take pride in their success - we hope this sounds like the type of workplace you’d like to join.
One of the core values of MotoNovo Finance is that we believe in our people as individuals. When you meet us, we want to get to know you as a person; your experience, your qualifications, your transferable skills and what makes you unique. Someone that will enhance our culture, and take our business to the next level. Don’t be afraid to tell us about your achievements, be yourself and let your talent shine – we are rooting for you!
We completely understand how nerve-racking and stressful applying for a new job can be, so the team are here to help you at every step of the way. Remember – the recruitment process is as much about you meeting us as it is about us meeting you! Be prepared and don’t be afraid to ask questions at any point. Good luck!
What happens after you meet us?
If you have been successful, a member of our recruitment team will call to make you an offer. This offer will include details of the salary and benefits that you can expect, and what the next steps will be. We want you to make the right decision when choosing MotoNovo Finance as the place to grow your career, so you do not have to accept straight away, but we will certainly be looking forward to welcoming you to the team.
In the event that you are unsuccessful, we will make sure to inform you as soon as possible, and offer feedback on your interview. We may also take the opportunity to discuss other vacancies we have available that we feel you would be interested in.
For interviews - smart is best. However, the everyday dress code is smart casual – we respect our people as individuals, so we believe that you can make a great impression whilst bringing your own personal taste and style to the business!
We have limited parking, so can only offer these spaces to candidates with specific access needs. We are based in Cardiff City Centre, with numerous nearby parking options, we are also adjacent to Cardiff Central Station and a number of bus routes.
Unless you have been briefed in advance, there is nothing specific you will be required to bring, however you are welcome to bring any research or notes you have made into your interview or to the assessment centre.
Unless you have been given a specific preparation brief, we recommend you prepare by browsing our website and learning about our products, history, and culture. But don’t forget about you – we’ll have questions on your previous experience, so know what you want to say.
Wherever possible we will ensure that you are offered tea, coffee, soft drinks and lunch. On the rare occasions that we are unable to provide this, we will ensure you have ample opportunity to visit local shops and cafes for refreshments during the course of the day. Vegetarian options can be provided, but if you have any other dietary requirements, please let us know at least 24 hours before the assessment day.
