Working as a member of our Project Delivery Team you will be leading projects with a strong technical focus. This will involve working with in-house technical teams and 3rd party technology partners to deliver high quality, secure, technical solutions ranging from Saas/Cloud computing to on premise technologies. You will need to manage stakeholders who may be non-technical and be able to translate and communicate technical concepts into everyday language.

What you will be doing 

Leading the planning scheduling and management  of IT and IT related projects using either waterfall or agile delivery methods as appropriate 
Working with the Project Sponsor or Product Owner  to agree and understand the priority of the deliverables and manage the backlog and plan in accordance with these
Managing the creation of the Business Case, where appropriate, and ongoing management of associated budget
Managing the end to end delivery of system changes from requirements definition/user story creation, through build, test and deployment through to transition into service
Assisting the team in removal of impediments to delivery
Identifying , tracking and managing progress, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, interdependencies and changes
Planning and facilitating all necessary rituals such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives and Project Board/Steering meetings where appropriate
Reporting on progress to stakeholders and other relevant governance forums
Working with the teams to improve the delivery process, with a focus on the management of Infrastructure deliverables, software development, and management of IT focused relationships and governance forums (i.e. Info Security)


What you need to know

Proven experience within an IT project management role with a focus on software applications/systems delivery
Experience of management of 3rd party vendors and suppliers
Ability to manage difficult stakeholders and deliver in ambiguous, fast-changing and complex environments
Sound working knowledge of the project lifecycle including selection of appropriate methodologies and techniques for delivery both agile and waterfall
Comfortable in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment
A good understanding of a broad range of technology eg: SaaS/Cloud based computing & on premise based infrastructure, common operating systems, programming languages and software proficiency including Database and Data Warehouse technology

To be able to plan and organise well, with clear direction and an eye for detail
Not be afraid of change and to be comfortable in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment
Previous experience with project Management tools such as Jira and Confluence is desired
Understanding of organisational transformation challenges and how to operate in this context
