As the Oracle Developer you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and testing of the business intelligence strategy across multiple business areas.  You will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of our current data warehouse and dashboard tools.

Mentoring and coaching other team members, when required, will be part of the role to help ensure that the business intelligence architecture and standards are achieved.

What you will be doing

  • Provide development on Business Intelligence, BI Publisher, Data Warehouse and Dashboard presentation systems as well as providing higher level support and be actively involved in reporting systems
  • Advanced SQL and PL/SQL development and high performance tuning for a range of requirements including data extracts/loads and complex inquiry and update logic
  • Documenting and maintaining a core document of any data / table / index information to allow for greater data governance
  • Support, administrate, maintain, manage and monitor our OLTP system processes, system functionality and batch processes
  • Produce standard reporting and business intelligence solutions for use by key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Help with the continued development of the data platform, with responsibility for the company’s growing data warehouse environment, business intelligence tools, and system integrations
  • Keep management well informed of status of management information effort and serves as liaison between MI staff and management where required
  • Agree appropriate design standards, methods and tools in consultation with senior management ensuring they are applied effectively and take account of enterprise and solutions architectures
  • Ensure that problems are managed in accordance with agreed standards and processes and the escalation procedures are adhered to, responding to escalation, complex and high impact problems in a timely fashion

What you will need


  • Experience within a database environment working with Oracle Database (11g or 12c), SQL, PL/SQL and ETL technologies, other database environments are acceptable in regards to SQL such as Postgres, MYSQL or Microsoft SQL server
  • Warehouse design/ development experience
  • Programming experience and proficient with PL/SQL and SQL based queries and ETL technologies
  • Strong skills with OLTP database environments as well as business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and complex database concepts
  • Exposure to partitioning materialized views and other Oracle analytical functions
  • Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implement effective solutions
  • Excellent systems analytical skills to transform innovative and creative solutions into functional systems
  • Strong skills with OLTP database environments as well as business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and complex database concepts
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, self-sufficient and foster ‘trusted advisor’ relationships with the business
  • Strong understanding of common software failures and faults
  • Excellent analytical skills with a challenging and enquiring mind
  • Communication skills and the ability to present complex concepts in a simple logical manner, both technical and business terms
  • Proven experience of working well under pressure and to deadlines and can use own initiatives
  • Logical analysis and trouble-shooting skills
