Last month we proudly launched our Apprenticeship Scheme, in collaboration with Cardiff and Vale College. The scheme is a first for MotoNovo and acts a bridge into our industry for people looking to roll up their sleeves, get stuck in, and find out what it really takes to work in financial services. Our apprentices will gain an understanding nationally recognised qualification during their time with us.

“Being able to provide such opportunities and capture the interest of a new talent pool is something we are proud to be able to offer.” - Deryn Williams, Head of Learning and Development.

A big welcome Naz, Nicola, Josh and Jaimie joining team MotoNovo. Find out what makes them tick…

Meet Josh Evans, Office Administration Apprentice

I’m originally from Lincolnshire, but moved to South Wales when I was 8 years old. I went on to study at the University of South Wales where I gained a degree in Psychology.

I found out about this Apprenticeship opportunity on Indeed; I already knew about MotoNovo Finance from attending careers fairs and gained the impression that it was a great place to work.

I’m really interested in pursuing business and administration, rather than a customer facing role at MotoNovo. So far I have been carrying out various tasks including processing payments, and shadowing my work peers to learn about organising the Welcome Packs and sorting the post. My mentor Mary Brown has helped me to settle in quickly and has really taken me under her wing.

My first impressions of MotoNovo:

Quirky | Community | Fun

Meet Nicola Katchi, Insurance Advisor Apprentice

Despite graduating with a degree in Mathematics, I was finding it difficult to find work where I could apply my skills. I was really excited when I came across this opportunity on Indeed and decided to apply.

I have spent my first few weeks in the Insurance department learning about administration processes and how to take welcome calls. Eventually I hope to go on to take customer facing calls; I’ve been told by a colleague that I have the ‘gift of the gab’ so I should fit perfectly into the role.

I have felt very well looked after since joining MotoNovo and find everyone to have a very positive attitude.

My first impressions of MotoNovo:

Relaxed | Positive | Driven

Meet Jaimie Sanger, Complaint Handler Apprentice

This is my first full time job since leaving Nantgarw College where I studied ICT and Business. I already knew about MotoNovo Finance as my mum used to work here also this is where I carried out my work placement during college.

So far within the Complaints department I have been learning about administration, vehicle quality and customer care. I’ve learnt a lot about the effects of GDPR, and how these recent changes have resulted in a need to be extra cautious!

MotoNovo seems like a really good place to work, the atmosphere is relaxed which has helped me to settle in quickly.

My first impressions of MotoNovo:

Friendly | Inclusive | Comfortable

Naz Shepon, Customer Relationship Apprentice

I have always known I wanted to work in Business, which is why I studied Accounting and Business at Cardiff and Vale College.

I heard about this Apprenticeship opportunity through a family member who works at MotoNovo, and decided to apply. I was so happy and shocked to get the role, as a lot of my friends had attempted to work here and had been unsuccessful.

Within my Customer Services role I have been listening in to calls and learning the process of communicating with customers. I am very glad not to have been thrown in to the deep end and to be given the opportunity to learn all the details of the job at my own pace.

My mentor, Marcia Sardar, has been like a mother figure to me since I started and has helped me to settle in quickly.

My first impressions of MotoNovo:

Friendly | Welcoming | Family
